School Joke

School Joke
A first-grade teacher, Ms Tulip (Age 28) was having trouble with one of her students. The teacher asked," Boy, what is your problem?"

Boy answered, "I'm too smart for the first-grade. My sister is in the third-grade and I'm smarter than she is! I think I should be in the third-grade too!"

Ms Tulip had enough. She took Boy. to the principal's office. While Boy. waited in the outer office, the teacher explained to the principal what the situation was. The principal told Ms Tulip he would give the boy a test and if he failed to answer any of his questions he was to go back to the first-grade and behave. She agreed.

Boy. was brought in and the conditions were explained to him and he agreed to take the test.

Principal: "What is 3 x 3?"
Boy: "9".

Principal: "What is 6 x 6?"
Boy: "36".

And so it went with every question the principal thought a third-grade should know. The principal looks at Ms Tulip and tells her, "I think Boy can go to the third-grade. "

Ms Tulip says to the principal, "I have some of my own questions.

Can I ask him ?" The principal and Boy both agreed.

Ms Tulip asks, "What does a cow have four of that I have only two of?
Boy., after a moment "Legs."

Ms Tulip: "What is in your pants that you have but I do not have?"
Boy: "Pockets."

Ms Tulip: What starts with a C and ends with a T, is hairy, oval, delicious and contains thin whitish liquid?
Boy: Coconut

Ms Tulip: What goes in hard and pink then comes out soft And sticky? The principal's eyes open really wide and before he could stop the answer, Boy. was taking charge.
Boy: Bubblegum

Ms Tulip: What does a man do standing up, a woman does sitting down and a dog does on three legs? The principal's eyes open really wide and before he could stop the answer...
Boy: Shake hands

Ms Tulip: Now I will ask some "Who am I" sort of questions, okay?
Boy: Yep.

Ms Tulip: You stick your poles inside me. You tie me down to get me up. I get wet before you do.
Boy: Tent

Ms Tulip: A finger goes in me. You fiddle with me when you're bored. The best man always has me first. The Principal was looking restless, a bit tense and took one large Vodka peg.
Boy: Wedding Ring

Ms Tulip: I come in many sizes. When I'm not well, I drip. When you blow me, you feel good.
Boy: Nose

Ms Tulip: I have a stiff shaft. My tip penetrates. I come with a quiver.
Boy: Arrow

Ms Tulip: What word starts with a 'F' and ends in 'K' that means lot of heat and excitement?
Boy: Fire truck

Ms Tulip: What word starts with a 'F' and ends in 'K' & if u don't get it u have to use your hand.
Boy: Fork

Ms Tulip: What is it that all men have one of it's longer on some men than on others, the pope doesn't use his and a man gives it to his wife after they're married?
Boy: SURNAME

Ms Tulip: What part of the man has no bone but has muscles, has lots of veins, like pumping, & is responsible for making love ?
Boy: HEART.

The principal breathed a sigh of relief and said to the teacher,
"Send this Boy to OXFORD UNIVERSITY EVEN I GOT THE LAST TEN QUESTION WRONG MYSELF"

A special mail to Bill Gates. ... Can he answer these.

A letter is from Banta Singh from Punjab. We have bought a computer for our home and we encountered some problems, which I want to bring to your notice.

1. After connecting to internet we planned to open e-mail account and whenever we fill the form in Hotmail in the password column, only ****** appears, but in the rest of the fields whatever we typed appears, but we face this problem only in password field.
We checked with hardware vendor Santa Singh and he said that there is no problem in keyboard. Because of this we open the e-mail account with password *****.
I request you to check this as we ourselves do not know what the password is.

2. We are not able to enter anything after we click the 'shut down 'button.

3. There's a button 'start' but there is no "stop" button. We request you to check this.

4. We find there is 'Run' in the menu. One of my friend clicked 'run' has ran upto Amritsar! So, we request you to change that to "sit", so that we can click that by sitting.

5. One doubt is that any 're-scooter' available in system? As I find only 're-cycle', but I own a scooter at my home.

6. There is 'Find' button but it is not functioning the right way. My wife lostthe door key and we tried a lot for tracing the key with this ' find',but not able to trace. Is it a bug??

7. Every night I am not sleeping as i have to protect my 'mouse' fromCAT, So i suggest u to provide one DOG to protect from the cat.

8. Please confirm when u are going to give me money for winning'HEARTS' (playing cards in games) and when are you coming to my home tocollect ur money.

God always sends rainbows... after the rain....

Whatever your cross,
whatever your pain,
there will always be sunshine,
after the rain ....

Perhaps you may stumble,
perhaps even fall,
But God's always ready,
To answer your call ...

He knows every heartache,
sees every tear,
A word from His lips,
can calm every fear ...

Your sorrows may linger,
throughout the night,
But suddenly vanish,
in dawn's early light ...

The Savior is waiting,
somewhere above,
To give you His grace,
and send you His love...

Whatever your cross,
whatever your pain,
"God always sends rainbows ....
after the rain ... "

Hyderabad's new airport on the fly

The stage is set for the inauguration of India's first world-class greenfield airport at Hyderabad built in the public-private partnership.

United Progressive Alliance (UPA) chairperson Sonia Gandhi will Friday inaugurate the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad, about 30 km from the city.

The new icon of this IT hub will be unveiled at 4.30 p.m. in the presence of Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel, Andhra Pradesh Governor N.D. Tiwari and Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy.

The project has been completed six months ahead of the schedule and is being opened a couple of weeks before the inauguration of the new airport in Bangalore, which is often described as Hyderabad's competitor.

It was Gandhi who had laid the foundation stone for the airport March 16, 2005.

The airport, which has many firsts to its credit, will commence commercial operations from 0001 hrs Sunday, and all operations from existing airport at Begumpet in the heart of the city would be shifted to ten new airport..

Built at a cost of Rs.25 billion, the airport is being billed as India's first truly world-class airport, offering facilities on par with those at Oslo, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore airports. The developers claim this project would take Indian airports to a new era.

The airport, which has come up on 5,000 acres of land, has 4,260-metre runway, the longest in South East Asia.

The airport has been built by GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited (GHIAL), a joint venture in which GMR Infrastructure Limited holds 63 percent, Malaysia Airports Holding Berhad 11 percent, Airports Authority of India (AAI) 13 percent and the Andhra Pradesh government 13 percent.

Designed to handle 12 million passengers in the first phase, the airport is expected to make the city an international hub on par with Dubai and Singapore and a cargo hub of Southeast Asia.

The ultimate capacity of the airport is 40 million passengers a year and one million tones of cargo annually.

The non-polluting airport has 100,005 square metre glass encased terminal, which promises natural light to passengers. The seven-storey passenger terminal building has been built by the China State Construction Engineering (Hong Kong).

It is also the first airport in the country to have no demarcation between international and domestic terminals, making passenger movements easy. It also has a unique airport village with commercial space where passengers can meet their friends and relatives.

The airport has 70-metre-tall Air Traffic Control (ATC) with the state-of-the-art equipment, a world-class cargo terminal, 42 aircraft parking stands with 12 aero-bridges and 30 remote parking bays, 60 check-in counters with Common User Terminal Equipment (CUTE) and 16 self check-in kiosks.

The airport will incorporate the novel 'aerotropolis' concept on the lines of Seoul, Munich and Hong Kong international airports, housing hotels, commercial centres, hospitals and residential quarters.

A business hotel has come up in the airport promises by Accor with Novotel brand. More hotels, commercial projects and a convention centre are planned in the second phase.

GMR-led consortium has chosen the best companies in different sectors for building and maintaining the facility.

However, the new facility is not free from controversies.

Its launch is preceded by a strike by AAI employees at the existing airport who are opposed to handing over a profit-making airport to a private company.

A section of passengers are worried over the time they would have to spend in travelling to the new airport, given the distance and lack of proper connectivity. Some feel it might take two hours but developers claim it will not be more than an hour.

The user development fee (UDF), which the private developers have been allowed to levy on passengers, is another dampener. The developers, for the time being, have spared the domestic passengers but $25 will be collected from every international departing passenger. The UDF may also be levied on domestic passengers once the connectivity improves.

The low-cost airlines are also keeping their fingers crossed as the passengers to domestic destinations within Andhra Pradesh and also to some southern cities might prefer trains if the travel to the new airport becomes more time-consuming and tiresome than the flying time.

Some pilots and crewmembers are is also wary of discomfort in covering a long distance to reach the new facility. Since most of them reside in Begumpet, which has good educational institutions and hospitals, they are reluctant to shift to a new place.

The new airport has also generated a political controversy. The main opposition Telugu Desam Party has threatened to disrupt the inaugural ceremony to protest the naming of the new airport. They want the airport to continue with two names.

The Begumpet airport has international unit named after former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi and domestic terminal after TDP founder and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N.T. Rama Rao

U.S. Companies Add 5 Workers For Each H-1B Visa They Seek

For each H-1b visa position requested, U.S. technology companies increase their employment by an average of five workers, says a new report released today by the National Foundation of American Policy, a research organization.

The NFAP examined all H-1B Labor Condition Applications, or LCA filings, to the U.S. Dept. of Labor from 2001 to 2005 by Standards & Poor's 500 technology companies. The NFAP report says researchers used "a regression model that controls for both general market conditions and firm size" in analyzing the association between number of positions required in H-1B LCA documents and the percentage of total employment.

Through this analysis, NFAP determined that S&P 500 technology companies with more than 5,000 employers added an average of five workers for every H-1B position requested. For companies with fewer than 5,000 employees, the average increase in employment was 7.5 workers for each H-1B position requested.

The S&P 500, which consists of mostly American companies, currently features about 76 technology companies.

The NFAP's report findings dispute a common argument by critics of the H-1B visa program who assert that the hiring of foreign technology professionals reduce employment opportunities for American workers.

"At the minimum, this shows that H-1Bs are complementary to other U.S. workers being hired, not displacing them," said Stuart Anderson, executive director of NFAP in an interview with InformationWeek.

Stuart, a former staff director of the Senate Immigration subcommittee, says NFAP, is "a non-profit, non-partisan public policy research organization that's independently funded by foundations and private contributors, and does not lobby for legislation."

The LCAs filings examined by NFAP are documents that companies file to the Dept. of Labor to specify details such as job location and pay that an employer plans to provide for a position they'd like to fill by an H-1B worker. The LCAs are "supporting evidence" employers provide to the U.S. Dept. of Labor before the company can apply for H-1B visa workers. LCAs need to be certified by the DoL before the employer can petition the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services for an H-1B visa.

However, the NFAP research did not examine the types of job positions that S&P companies added to their employment, or the pay for those positions. Anderson said the research did not conclude that companies added to their employment because they were saving money by hiring H-1B workers. In fact, he said an opposite argument may be true.

"We did not see increases in H-1B hiring by companies when they faced harder times and needed to reduce their payrolls," he says.

On April 1, the U.S. government begins accepting H-1B visa petitions from employers looking to hire foreign workers for fiscal 2009, which starts Oct. 1.

In another report NFAP released on Monday, the organization said its analysis of S&P 500 employers found that there are more than 140,000 job openings for skilled positions at those companies today.

Major U.S. technology companies today average more than 470 U.S.-based job openings for skilled positions, while defense companies have more than 1,265 each.

The skilled positions include all jobs that require at least an undergraduate degree. NFAP examined posting for U.S.-based jobs at all companies in the S&P 500 companies. The vast majority of the data was gathered in January 2008, with the rest compiled in December 2007 or February 2008, says NFAP's report.

So, who's trying to fill the most jobs? According the NFAP report, S&P 500 employers with the most job openings as of January 2008 are Microsoft (4,005), Northrop Grumman (3,925), Lockheed Martin (3,901), General Electric (3,078), Countrywide Financial (2,415), JPMorgan Chase (2,164), Tenet Healthcare (2,050), United Health Group (1,927), Raytheon (1,694), IBM (1,670), Computer Sciences Corp. (1,666), Cintas (1,664), L-3 Communications (1,618), Bank of America (1,600), U.S. Bancorp (1,562) and Cisco Systems (1,504).

Highest-ever international offer to IIM-A Student

This year’s final placement surprise has once again come from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A).

The premier institute recorded the highest-ever international offer of $360,000 (around Rs 1.44 crore) made by a financial conglomerate (markets) to a Post Graduate Programme (PGP) student.

The offer has broken records set by the institute’s earlier batch, which got between $250,000 and $300,000 (depending on bonuses).

It also beats its own Post Graduate Programme in Management for Executives (PGPX) programme, which recorded the highest salary of $250,000, and the Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad's $269,000.

IIM-A Director Samir K Barua, said, “The highest international acceptances at IIM-A range between $280,000 and $360,000, of which the actual salary on-hand will depend on the bonus component, which will only be known after one year, based on the performance of the students.”

On the other hand, the highest domestic acceptance is in the range of Rs 50 lakh to Rs 70 lakh, which again beats the packages bagged by ISB and PGPX students last year of Rs 60 lakh. Average domestic salary is Rs 17.85 lakh — a 30 per cent jump from last year's figure of Rs 13.7 lakh. Average international salary has touched $119,000 compared with last year's $115,300.

"We were apprehensive about placements this year due to the subprime slowdown, but it went very well. In fact 113 students out of the batch of 255 will be joining the financial sector this year," added Barua.

This year, like last year, consulting has emerged as preferred recruiter among students, with over 30.89 per cent opting for it. Around 19.11 per cent of students opted for finance-markets, 10.98 per cent chose finance IBD, a similar percentage chose finance-general, 6.10 per cent opted for Marketing, 6.91 per cent opted for general management while others chose finance-PE, real estate, operations, entrepreneurship and IT-ITeS.

Continuing with last year's trend, 76 per cent of students chose domestic offers, 11 per cent took up offers in the Asia-Pacific, 7 per cent in Europe, 4 per cent in the US and 2 per cent in the West Asia.

Around 11 students opted out of the placement process this year to start their own ventures. Major recruiters from the banking sector included Goldman Sachs, Lehman Brothers, Morgan Stanley, JP Morgan, Merrill Lynch, Deutsche Bank and Barclays. Consulting majors Monitor Group and Oliver Wyman were new recruiters this year.

Similarly, the institute's PGP-Agri Business Management Programme (ABM) saw 30 companies visit the campus for 30 students. Average salaries increased from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 12.30 lakh.

Consulting attracted 28 per cent students followed by marketing (21 per cent) and finance (17 per cent). Profiles offered by SEWA, FINO and Suminter Organics were at the senior management level.
